Fava Beans and a nice Chianti!
Fava Beans are an almost perfect Spring addition to any dish your planning. Find them at our local Toledo Farmers' Market or at out friends Sautter's Market. While notoriously time consuming to prepare, because you must remove the beans from the pod, but each bean has its own shell. They are an illustration in tediousness, but wonderful when you get the hang of it. They can be sautéed, marinated or served with a nice risotto. A simple recipe for fava beans would be to 1) sauté them with bacon or pancetta until tender 2)then served with melted butter and shaved Pecorino cheese and Black Pepper 3) serve with a nice Chianti!
