Killer Good Honey Garlic Chicken

This delicious dish is always a hit with kids and adults alike. Add to that pantry staple ingredients and ease of preparation and it will be a hit with you too! Just assemble in your slow cooker in the morning and you're good to go by dinnertime. Or, you can try Fat Cat's preferred method by roasting the chicken in the oven then basting with the sweet garlicky glaze. Serve with fragrant jasmine or basmati rice, or another grain like quinoa along with steamed or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken thighs

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

  1. Lay chicken thighs into the bottom of a 4-quart slow cooker.

  2. Whisk soy sauce, ketchup, honey, garlic, and basil together in a bowl; pour over the chicken.

  3. Cook on Low for 6 hours.

Optional Cooking Method:

  1. In 350 degrees preheated oven, place chicken in sprayed pan in single layer pour sauce over.

  2. Place 1/4 cup water around chicken. Cover tightly with foil. Cook 1 hour to 1.15 minutes or until tender.

  3. Remove foil & place 4" under broiler to brown, spooning the glaze over, watching carefully, while browning.

Serve over rice with chopped Italian parsley, finely chopped scallions or toasted sesame seeds sprinkled over top.
